Great reporting by Kate Porter, including an interview with Janet Stavinga about how the Government of Ontario stripped wetlands of critical protections: https://lnkd.in/dXsV-vgY. Ontario Nature raised the alarm about one wetland near Ottawa in our quarterly magazine, ON Nature: https://lnkd.in/gqhqriAk.

Ontario Nature's Conservation Policy and Campaigns Director, Tony Morris, speaks on Ontario's proposed Highway 413. "It would be devastating to the watersheds and remaining natural heritage in the GTA and prime agricultural lands, without really any evidence that it would actually do anything to alleviate congestion". Outdoor Magic looks and great read and so timely.
My teaching career spans six decades, much of engaged in outdoor and environmental education. I have also completed 998 presentations on climate change and I am convinced that a key to effectively addressing this and other global issues is to spend time outdoors in nature. Simply put, if you personally connect, you care ... then you act. I have just published a book about my own outdoor pursuits as well as my teaching outdoors. It features a wide array of articles, each around 800 words in length. Its title is OUTDOOR MAGIC: THE POWER OF NATURE CONNECTION. For more information on the book including several glowing testimonials and ordering information, go to my website: www.loveyourmother.ca

Protecting species at risk is essential for the long-term health and diversity of Ontario’s ecosystems. Yet, Ontario continues to lose more biodiversity than it conserves.
