🐻🌲 Bear Basics: Black, Grizzly & Spirit Bears Explained! 🌲🐻 Did you know BC is home to three incredible bear species? Here’s how to spot the differences: Black Bears: The most common and smallest of the three, black bears are versatile and adaptable. They come in various colors from black to chocolate brown and even cinnamon! Grizzly Bears: Larger and more robust than black bears, grizzlies can be recognized by their distinctive humped shoulders and deeper face profile. They have a grizzled fur appearance, hence the name! Spirit Bears (Kermode): A rare subspecies of the black bear, Spirit bears are known for their striking white or creamy fur. Found only in BC's Great Bear Rainforest, these bears are not albinos but have a unique genetic trait that results in their light colouring. Each bear plays a vital role in our ecosystem and can be spotted while on board the Pacific Yellowfin 🐾🌳 #nature #adventure #greatbearrainforest

🐋 Whale Watcher’s Guide to BC’s Coast! 🌊 Ever wondered about the differences between humpback, grey, and minke whales that grace our beautiful BC coast? Let’s dive in! 🐋 Humpback Whales: Known for their spectacular breaching and deep, haunting songs, humpbacks are massive, with long pectoral fins and unique tail markings. 🐋 Grey Whales: These whales are famous for their long migrations. Grey whales can be identified by their mottled grey skin and streamlined bodies. They love to feed in the shallow coastal waters, often seen spyhopping and mud-sifting. 🐋 Minke Whales: The smallest of our trio, minkes are sleek and fast. They are more elusive, often recognized by their pointed snouts, pointier fin and a white band on each flipper. Lucky for us, all three species can be spotted along BC's Pacific coast! Can you identify which whale is in each photo? #YellowfinMagic #vacation #worklifebalance #luxuryvacation

"It’s very easy to lose yourself out here. Like the ever-present mist that swirls around the verdant hills, time is a fuzzy notion. With no mobile coverage and only one working clock on board (a deliberate move), you have to think long and hard to work out whether it’s Thursday or Saturday. The yacht can get internet access by request, of course, but that would miss the point. The respite you get from being off-grid perfectly complements this special part of the planet, which also appears to be lost in time."
