"Just making the call may be a relief to many in the energy sector.” - Dane Wilkins. Zonal pricing is the idea of splitting the UK’s wholesale electricity market into different pricing zones to more closely reflect local demand and stimulate energy infrastructure investment in areas where it has greatest value. But the five year implementation time is causing uncertainty and paralysis for investors, and has led to a "bruising debate" across the industry. At Pacific Green, we are sympathetic to both points of view. But we do have a message for Ed Miliband: if there is one thing that investors are averse to, it is uncertainty. Green energy infrastructure will clearly help households and the environment we all live and work in. But green infrastructure can also deliver lasting benefits to local communities if project proponents take an active role in the process. That's why we believe in "Community First" Batteries: https://ow.ly/xVnb50U1ukk #CommunityFirst #RenewableEnergy #NetZero

Co-locating batteries with #solar "represents an optimal solution addressing our energy trilemma of security, sustainability and affordability.” That is why- of the 17.2 GWh of new capacity added last year, thanks to a growing trend of adding storage to solar systems - residential batteries represent 70% of that total! Find out why Battery #EnergyStorage is booming with solar across Europe with our latest article: https://ow.ly/rh2J50TWYll

We were excited to have the opportunity to sponsor and lead discussions on Australia’s #netzero transition at the All Energy Australia Conference in Melbourne earlier today. Our Australia MD, Joel Alexander gave the introductory address opening the plenary session discussion exploring progress in Australia's energy transition which included several distinguished policy makers, industry leaders and experts. At Pacific Green, we see the next five years as being an incredibly exciting time for the energy sector in Australia - which is what made today's conversation so important. You can read a summary of Joel's address here for his analysis of the success factors driving Australia's world-leading #cleanenergy progress, and what needs to happen next: https://ow.ly/IUY450TRn0P #AllEnergyAu #EnergyStorage

Pacific Green is announcing today the launch of the second phase of its UK Battery #EnergyStorage Systems (BESS) strategy with the appointment of a dedicated Development Team, based in our new office in Edinburgh, Scotland. New Development Directors Steven Black and Fraser Blackwood - both from the #Renewables Division of Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and reporting to Dane Wilkins - will enable the business to respond directly to national climate change mitigation objectives and the renewed impetus to deploy energy and grid decarbonisation efforts under the new UK Government. The second phase of our UK BESS strategy will involve originating #cleanenergy projects: identifying land and managing grid and planning consents, and expanding an already growing global operational portfolio of energy storage assets.
