Detour Lake remains one of our most well-known successes – we’re like proud parents watching our adult child thrive! As an exploration company, we focus on finding gold deposits and managing the early stages of the mining process. We like to partner with or sell projects to mining or development companies like Agnico Eagle Mines Limited to fully develop and manage the balance of the mine’s life cycle. In the case of Detour Lake, we bought it and re-envisioned it as a large open-pit. We love to see it celebrated now! https://lnkd.in/g9_tAks6
The Royal Canadian Mint has released the newest coin in its Single Mine bullion program. It’s a special honour for Canadian mines. The Royal Canadian Mint partners specifically with those committed to the responsible sourcing of metals, and the process of creating these coins is rigorous to ensure each coin is 100% sourced from the partner mine. This one is particularly close to my heart because it’s from Agnico Eagle Mines Limited’s Detour Mine. What folks might not know is, Pelangio acquired the Detour Lake mine property, re-envisioned it as a large open-pit and co-founded Detour Gold which developed the mine as a large open-pit before it made it’s way to Agnico-Eagle. It does my heart good to see Detour Lake recognized with its Single Mine bullion coin - I’m going to need to get my hands on one!

We’re excited to advance our Manfo project, located on the Sefwi Gold Belt in the Ashanti region of Ghana. We’ve had projects in Ghana since 2006…and we love to see gold celebrated!
The Bank of Ghana has launched a new gold coin, made from gold mined from – you guessed it, Ghana – and refined to 99.99% purity! Ghana is the biggest gold producer in Africa. It’s also where Pelangio Exploration Inc. has three projects: Manfo, Obuasi and Dankran. Our Manfo project in particular has been getting some love lately, thanks to our recent partnership with MFD Investment Holdings.
