Remembering Larry Harbarenko (pictured on the right). In the world of pipelines, we become like family, and when we lose one of our own, it touches us all deeply. Pipestone Projects would like to honor the memory of an incredible person, Larry Harbarenko, whose contributions and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. His dedication and warmth will never be forgotten. Thank you to Bob Marshall for sharing this picture and memories of Larry. This project was a Novacorp International Project in Turkey for a pipeline extending from Russia to Ankara, Turkey. Novacorp acted as the Owner’s representative for Botas on the segment of the pipeline that extended from the Bulgaria-Turkey border, crossed the Marmara Sea, extended to Istanbul, and terminated in the capital, Ankara. Larry Harbarenko was the Chief Inspector, Honary Beaujot was the Project Manager, and Bob Marshall served as the Construction Manager. Larry was a very energetic and knowledgeable Chief Inspector who led an excellent pipeline inspection team. He also worked with us in Malaysia on a Petronas Pipeline some years later, building on his extensive experience with NOVA on the Alberta Pipeline System. #pipelinefamily

Did you know that the government of Canada regulates approximately 10% of the pipelines? Canada has over 760,000 kilometers of pipelines transporting hydrocarbons such as oil and natural gas—enough to stretch to the moon and back. Most pipelines are regulated at the provincial level, but those crossing provincial borders or the Canada-U.S. border fall under federal jurisdiction. The Canada Energy Regulator (CER) oversees about 73,000 kilometers of pipeline, which accounts for roughly 10 percent of the country's total pipeline network. #pipestoneprojects #pipelineestimating #pipelineconstruction Source CRA website

Pipestone Projects was able to attend our in-depth case study on the economics of adding regulated natural gas facilities put on Canadian Women in Energy - Calgary Chapter! The technical event explored key design and regulatory principles in the pipeline sector and discussed how these decisions impact the bottom line. Featuring insights from Marc Gerard, Manager of Project Services and Support at TC Energy. It was a fantastic opportunity to deepen our understanding of how regulated pipelines operate and thrive! #PipelineEconomics #NaturalGas #EnergyIndustry #RegulatoryInsights #TC_Energy #PipestoneProjects

Each month, Pipestone Projects will spotlight a student in the Canadian Energy sector, highlighting those who support the ongoing development of Canadian energy. Meet our first featured student, Ryan Krieger , who is currently attending Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Why I Chose Power Engineering: After working in the field with an environmental company focusing on fugitive emissions, I gained valuable of exposure to operations in the energy industry. This hands-on experience solidified my interest and curiosity in learning how everything connects, especially as the industry moves towards more environmentally friendly practices. Power engineering felt like the right path to dive deeper into these areas and contribute to a more sustainable future. Hobbies: Outside of school, I like staying active and being outdoors. Hiking and exploring nature are some of my favourite ways to clear my mind and recharge. I also frequent the gym, which helps me stay focused and balanced with my studies. What I’m Looking Forward To: As a first-year Power Engineering student, I’m excited to gain more hands-on experience in the field, work towards gaining steam time for my 3rd class certification, and be involved in projects that prioritize sustainability and energy efficiency. Combining my background in emissions technology with what I’m learning in power engineering will help me make an impact in the future of energy production. #futureleaders #pipestoneprojects #canadianenergy
