It was an incredible evening at the 2024 World Demolition Awards in Stockholm last evening. Priestly Demolition brought home two (2) awards—Contract of the Year over $1M (US), for the Cameco Building 27 Deconstruction project, and Contract of the Year under $1M (US) for the Glenbow Museum North East Stairwell Removal in Calgary. Today we acknowledge the lives of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities and transferred to residential schools. OPERATOR CHALLENGE - The PDI crew in the yard, warehouse and shop worked hard to create various obstacle courses and difficult team challenges. A project like this shows exactly how PDI is leading the way in the demolition industry, with the ability to construct a plan under pressure and mobilize quickly to dismantle and move a bridge out of the water (allowing marine traffic to resume). Our in-house expertise enabled us to put together the smartest, safest and quickest solution possible. We engaged our partners at Entuitive and western mechanical to help with the project. Building strong partnerships with the industries best isn't something that happens overnight.
