With the 2024-25 Canadian college sports season in full swing, I’d be remised if I didn’t recap the offseason we had at PRSVRE Media Group - because I'm REALLY proud of it! The offseason is often the most challenging time of the year because the question is always “now what?!” With sports on pause and an audience to serve, we’re always trying to understand how we can stay committed to delivering an industry-leading Canadian college sports fan experience. Good news: March 2024 - August 2024 was not only our most productive offseason, it was probably the most productive time period in PRSVRE’s young existence. We remained committed to our vision of building the production arm of our company, producing three new episodic series through our platforms. 🎥 “Mic’d Up” gives fans a behind the scenes look at all the on-field action as we Mic Up on some of Canada’s top college athletes and follow them around practices and games. 🎥 “Sneakers & Stories” highlights the careers and lifestyles of athletes through the sneakers they’ve worn and grown to love. This series provides fans with an inside look at the personalities and inspirations for athletes, while also paying homage to the brands and silhouettes that have become iconic with sneaker-lovers across the world. 🎥 Launched today, “Top 10 Necessities” brings a lifestyle approach to the Canadian college sports space, as athletes reveal 10 items that prove to be necessities in their lives. In addition, we (FINALLY) entered the events space back in July, partnering with York University and launching our first organized basketball event, Study Hall Runs. 🏀 The basketball showcase had a turnout of 36 players from U SPORTS schools, OCAA schools, and CEBL teams. We look forward to returning to York in the near future for the next edition - super excited. Also, we relaunched the PRSPECTVES Newsletter, and increased its cadence from once a month, to once a week - you should subscribe if you haven't yet (https://lnkd.in/gMWUbncw) With the season underway, our sights aren’t just set on the college sports coverage we provide. They’re set on continuing to work with athletes (both college and professional), schools, professional sports teams, and brands to produce some of the best original features, episodic series, and events in the Canadian college sports space. When PRSVRE started a number of years ago, the goal was to distinctly create a space in Canada's sports media industry that was dedicated to Canadian college athletes and Canadian professional athletes. Over the last 6 months, we took that goal to an entirely new level - and had fun in the process!
