Five months ago, our Oakville team embarked on an exciting journey to enhance Quadra Group's operational excellence and drive continuous improvement. Together, a diverse and cross-functional group of colleagues set out to earn our Six Sigma Lean Yellow Belt certification, and today, we’re proud to share the results. We started with foundational knowledge, diving deep into Six Sigma and Lean principles. We also had the incredible opportunity to visit a Toyota manufacturing plant, gaining real-world insights and seeing these methodologies in action. Our hard work culminated in presenting seven specific improvement opportunities within our manufacturing processes—strategies we’re already looking to implement. A huge shoutout to Anil Gupta, our guiding force and Master Black Belt, whose expertise, mentorship, and leadership made this journey successful and truly transformative. His support empowered us to think critically, collaborate efficiently, and tackle complex challenges head-on. On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect on the enduring legacies of residential schools and the ongoing journey toward healing for Indigenous communities across Canada. This day allows us to listen, learn, and take meaningful action toward reconciliation. As we honour this day, Quadra reaffirms its dedication to fostering respectful relationships, advancing economic opportunities, and supporting Indigenous education and community well-being. Community Involvement: Empowering Young Minds Through Science Through our valued partnership with Big Grassy River First Nation, Quadra proudly supports initiatives that enrich the educational experience for local youth. One such initiative is the annual ‘You Be the Chemist!’ event, held at Pegamigaabo School. In alignment with the NunatuKavut Community Council’s (NCC) vision, we had the privilege of facilitating science experiments for over 20 students. Supported by Nunacor and Responsible Distribution Canada, these students had the chance to deepen their understanding of science and its many real-world applications, fostering a spirit of discovery and education. Exploring New Horizons Quadra is actively engaging with businesses owned by Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), presenting in person to explore potential partnerships and synergies within the mining sector. This direct engagement fosters open dialogue and mutual understanding, furthering the path of economic reconciliation. Strategic Partnerships: Building Together in Labrador Our strategic partnership with Nunacor marks a significant step in expanding Quadra’s reach and services within the Labrador region. Together, we are working to increase supply capacity, revenue, and job opportunities for Nunacor and the communities within NunatuKavut. This partnership not only strengthens our business relationships but also aligns with our commitment to contributing to the prosperity of Indigenous communities in the region. Committed to Reconciliation in Oil & Gas In partnership with Oosita, a key driver for the Fort Chipewyan Métis Nation (FCMN), Quadra has formed a Limited Partnership to support the oil sands industry in the Athabasca Region, Alberta. The Oosita-Quadra LP represents a joint commitment to advancing reconciliation while addressing the evolving needs of oil sands customers. By working together, we are helping to create a future that embraces prosperity, collaboration, and respect for Indigenous rights. On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Quadra is proud to stand alongside our Indigenous partners, walking together toward healing and shared success. Last week, members from our Delta office participated in a Back to School volunteer event. We teamed up with Mamas for Mamas, a specialized poverty relief agency dedicated to supporting mothers and caregivers, helping them with support and fundraising to provide essential resources such as food, clothing, and school supplies. As the school year approaches, many families face challenges in providing their children with all the essentials. To address this need, Mamas for Mamas hosted an event where families could “shop” for these items at no cost. Our Quadra team got involved by donating backpacks and supplies, setting up a health and wellness table with nutritious snacks, and lending a hand throughout the event.
