A great article outlining the importance of infrared electrical inspections. As a preferred service provider for AVIVA Insurance in Atlantic Canada, we've seen firsthand the value of infrared electrical inspections in preventing hidden hazards and ensuring electrical safety. Infrared electrical inspections are a non-invasive and non-destructive method of detecting electrical faults and anomalies, providing a safer and more cost-effective alternative to traditional methods. ✅ Increased Reliability ✅ Reduced costs (minor equipment repairs vs failure and replacement) ✅ Increased Safety, reduce risk of fire or arc flash event #AVIVA #thermalimaging #infrared #electricalmaintenance #insurance

We specialize in performing infrared inspections of electrical and mechanical equipment
About us
Quantum Thermal Imaging specializes in infrared thermography of electrical equipment. We utilize an IR camera to detect deficiencies in electrical equipment that can lead to an electrical fault causing costly downtime or repairs. Our camera is best in market and can provide the highest resolution images available. Some common findings are loose/poor connections, faulty breakers/fuses, phase imbalances and undersized/overloaded circuits. Many of these issues can be repaired at a small cost with little downtime if discovered early. We offer infrared inspections, preventative maintenance packages and consulting services. Feel free to contact us to find out how we can benefit your company today! Thanks, Mike Holloway P. Tech Owner Quantum Thermal Imaging Ltd.

When it comes to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of your equipment, it's essential to pay attention to the little details. One common mistake we encounter often is overheating connections caused by poorly terminated or crimped wire terminals. Make sure to use the correct tool to crimp your terminals. This simple step can save you from potential equipment damage, downtime, and even more serious consequences such as a fire. #electricalmaintenance #electricalfire #infraredinspections #maintenancetips #smallbusiness

Unfortunately, we see modifications instead of replacements or repairs all too often. A broken switch for a control panel led to a dangerous situation — using vice grips to turn the equipment on/off. The equipment operates at 600 volts, and the vice grips were a mere 6" away from energized connections. To add to the risk, the operator switched directly in front of the equipment with the door open. 😀 ⚡ 😱⚡ 🤕⚡ 💀 ⚡ Plain and simple: Don't do it. If something isn't fit for service, have it repaired by a professional. Saving a few bucks isn't worth your life. We know what your thinking, no this wasn't taken with a flip phone from 2001. Our IR camera takes incredible thermal photos but the digital resolution could use some work. #electrocution #industrialsafety #thermalimaging #electricianfails #arcflash Mike Holloway Kayla Holloway

🕵♀️ Not all finds on an IR scan are related to temperature. Can you spot the issue we found on this inspection? 🕵♀️ Mike Holloway Kayla Holloway #industrialmaintenance #electrician #thermalimaging #infrared #electricalsafety

One of the most common issues we find at Quantum Thermal Imaging Ltd. during an IR scan is mismatched fuses. This can include different ampacities, types, and even manufacturers. It's crucial to replace a fuse with one that matches the voltage, amperage, and type to ensure the safe operation of the protective device. If using a different manufacturer, be sure to utilize cross-reference tools provided on their website to ensure compatibility.
