True neuro-inclusion means seeing beyond stereotypes and valuing each person’s unique strengths. Often, neurodivergent traits get overlooked or treated as jokes, shutting down vital conversations. Every word and action matters in creating a safe space for all individuals. Building real connections requires neurotypical people to make an effort to learn and empathize with neurodivergent experiences, which helps dismantle stigma. For more on fostering inclusion, check out this article from @NeuroInclusionHub and learn how you can lessen the divide between the Neurodiverse and Neurotypical communities. https://lnkd.in/gF3i3Ujc #Neurodiversity #BreakTheStigma #Inclusion #DisabilityAwareness #StopAbleism #Diversityandinclusion #Neurodiversity #InclusiveEducation #MentalHealthMatters #GrowthMindset #CelebrateDifferences #ADHD #Neurodiversity #InclusiveLanguage #MentalHealth #Empathy #Support #Advocacy #Neurodiversity #DevelopmentalDisabilities #Inclusion #Empowerment #MentalHealth #SelfAdvocacy #Mindfulness #CommunitySupport #InclusiveSociety #Neurodiversity #DevelopmentalDisabilities #Empowerment #Inclusion #PositiveImpact #UniqueAbilities #Mindfulness #SelfAdvocacy #MentalHealthMatters #Dyslexia #Autism #ResilientCommunities #ResilientHearts

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month, and we are highlighting how Rotarians and local businesses are creating meaningful jobs for individuals with intellectual disabilities through Inclusion Alberta’s Rotary Employment Partnership. Albertans with intellectual disabilities experience an unemployment rate of more than 70%. The Rotary Employment Partnership is creating life-changing job opportunities while providing an untapped labour market to Alberta’s business community. The partnership has created over 850 jobs to date in areas such as food service to administration to labour, and everything in between. Learn more about becoming an inclusive employer. Congratulations to Logan who recently celebrated his two-year work anniversary at Central Alberta Co-op Ltd.'s Timberland location, a job that was developed with support from the Rotary Employment Partnership in Red Deer. Logan is responsible for restocking the shelves, assisting customers and keeping the store looking tidy. “I like being a part of the CO-OP team,” says Logan. “It’s a great feeling to help customers find what they need to feed their friends and family.” Thank you, Central Alberta CO-OP for your commitment to inclusive employment, and congratulations to Logan on your work anniversary! If you are a business leader and would like to learn more about tapping into a valuable labour market by becoming an inclusive employer, please visit our website. Let’s move beyond awareness and take action to open doors, build inclusive workforces, and tap into an often-overlooked talent pool. https://lnkd.in/gp3iwKCB

It's important to remember that advocating for ADHD should not be limited to just ADHD Awareness Month. It's crucial to take year-round action to combat stigma, promote inclusivity, and support individuals with ADHD. By educating ourselves, amplifying ADHD voices, and advocating for workplace inclusion, we can create an environment where people with ADHD feel empowered, understood, and valued every day. In addition, throughout October, I will be sharing some resources for people who want to learn more about ADHD. #ADHD #ADHDAwarenessMonth #ADHDSupport #AdhdAwarenessMonth2024 #BreakTheStigma #Inclusion #DisabilityAwareness #StopAbleism #Diversityandinclusion #Neurodiversity #MentalHealthMatters #ResilientCommunities #ResilientHeartsInc
