I'm grateful and excited to announce (during pride month to boot!) that StartOut is expanding to Canada and I am the Chair of the newest chapter, StartOut Canada 🏳️🌈 👏🏼 I first got involved with StartOut a couple years ago, searching for a founder community that understood and held space for queer people. I instantly fell in love with the people, the energy and the support through their Growth Lab accelerator. Chris Davidson Jake Hannigan, I'm grateful for the space you create for under-represented founders in this wild startup world! StartOut Canada is hoping to extend some of that love up north 💙 💚 💛 💜 With other orgs already doing incredible work in this space QueerTech Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) to name a couple, we want to get to know the ecosystem and self-identifying 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs in Canada, hear their experiences, learn and start to understand where StartOut Canada might best be able to offer energy and support. We hope to create our "manifesto" with our community and I invite everyone to participate! StartOut Canada will be having 2 focus groups to learn from queer founders and queer founder supporters this July! Join one of their focus groups in July to help StartOut get to know queer founders and entrepreneurs in Canada, learn their experiences and hear their stories. The insights gathered in these open, safe conversations will help the StartOut Canada team tailor events, resources and programming to the needs of Canadian folks.
