This week, the Fall 2024 Graduate Student Welcome/Welcome Back Reception and BCDI Celebration was hosted by the Department of Rural Development, the Rural Development Institute (RDI), and the Faculty of Arts Dean’s Office. Our Diploma and MA programs in Rural Development are thriving, and our research connections are stronger than ever with ongoing partnerships in Ghana, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, and Europe. RDI continues to play a vital role in expanding our student and research networks globally. Let's take a moment to celebrate these incredible achievements.

This past month, RDI was contacted by Dana Reiter - a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia - to collaborate in an Inter-Provincial Book Tour Event! Through this event hosted this past weekend, we were able to engage in conversations with a rancher from Deloraine, MB covering a variety of topics with regard to conservation efforts in ranching and agriculture - topics explored in the Stewards of the Grasslands publication! For those interested in learning more about the realities and practices of ranchers from Manitoba to British Colombia, please feel free to come by the RDI office to access this new book, or access online with the link below: https://lnkd.in/e-Rj-7vY (Featured below is ADEBOWALE YUSUF (RDI) and Phil Adams)
