Empowering Indigenous communities with climate solutions and healing justice.

About us

Sacred Earth Solar (SES) is an Indigenous women-led grassroots organization that works in solidarity with impacted Indigenous communities who are protecting their homelands by bringing climate solutions and healing initiatives directly to the frontlines of land protection, cultural resurgence, and language revitalization. At Sacred Earth Solar, we believe the time has come for communities to reintegrate the wisdom of our ancestors by implementing a just transition in Indigenous communities. We work towards a future where we are no longer reliant on fossil fuels, reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and inspire the world over to join us in our call to create a healthy planet that sustains all generations to come.

We’re excited to share the details for an upcoming webinar we’ll be a part of with The Climate Emergency Unit! Join us this August 14th 2024 for “Rooted in Justice: Indigenous Youth & The Green Job Revolution” RSVP now: https://lnkd.in/gKWNwF5t 🌿🌿🌿 In the 2024 Federal Budget, the government said that it will launch consultations on the development of a Youth Climate Corps. If won, the Youth Climate Corps would be an audacious program that would provide tens of thousands of young people with good green jobs to fight the climate crisis in their communities. It would provide meaningful work in renewable energy, ecosystem restoration, retrofits, emergency response, and community care work. We know that Indigenous communities are both facing the brunt of devastating climate impacts caused by fossil fuels and colonialism, and at the leading edge of climate solutions like renewable energy projects, resisting new fossil fuel infrastructure, and reasserting their land and water rights. So what will a Youth Climate Corps look like centering Indigenous Knowledge and leadership by Indigenous Nations at its core? Join Indigenous climate justice leaders in conversation with the Climate Emergency Unit on August 14 to collectively imagine the future of the Youth Climate Corps for Indigenous communities and how to achieve it. RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gKWNwF5t

The results are in from the Peoples’ Climate Vote - the world’s largest-ever standalone survey on climate change 🌎 People from 77 countries were asked how climate change is impacting their lives and what action they want to see from leaders and the results are clear: The world wants urgent #ClimateAction now. Business as usual is not enough. If leaders see just how many people in their country want more climate action, they will have to act. Check out the results at the website peoplesclimate.vote and see what people are saying using the hashtag #PeoplesClimateVote Share these results and help bring the voices of the people to world leaders! Because our voices matter. UNDP
