The Sarnia Police Service plays a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of more than 73,000 residents in the City of Sarnia and Aamjiwnaang First Nation. Sarnia is the largest city on Lake Huron and is situated on the eastern bank of the St. Clair River in Lambton County, Ontario. As a border community it offers convenient access to the United States, and is a busy hub conencting cities in Canada and the U.S by ways of rail, air, road and water. The Sarnia Police Service is proud to be one of a few municipal police services to provide policing services to a First Nation community. Recognizing and respecting the particular needs and concerns of the Aamjiwnaang community is one of the primary goals of the Sarnia Police Service.     October is Women's History Month. It was just two weeks and 50 years ago, that the first women took their oath to become RCMP officers. Four years later, the Sarnia Police Service hired its first female officer. Constable Elaine Keith served from 1978 to 1981 and is an important part of Sarnia Police history.

    The Sarnia Police Service is hiring for the permanent, full-time position of Junior Financial Analyst. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2024. The primary role of the Junior Financial Analyst is to provide financial and accounting support services relating to financial analysis, budget, general accounting duties, time reporting and payroll. This role is also intended to assist in the production and delivery of reporting, invoicing and reconciliation, as well as to respond and contribute to funding requests, reimbursements, special projects and requests for interpretation.
