This week, I had the privilege of presenting my poster at #CAG_2024 on using #reflexive techniques to bridge cultural and generational disconnects with end-users when employing participatory research methods for the development and delivery of the #OurDementiaJourneyJournal (ODJJ), a co-designed tool to support stronger partnerships between #caregivers and care providers of persons living with dementia. A huge thank you to my mentor, Celina Carter RN PhD for her encouragement and invaluable guidance throughout this project. I then joined my colleagues Paul Holyoke, PhD and Valentina Cardozo in hosting an interactive #workshop on the complex framework used in the implementation and evaluation of the #ODJJ to plan for its scale, spread, and sustainment. It was rewarding to be offered a platform to reach other young researchers breaking into health innovation for aging and to see participatory methods taking center stage in much of this work. I am especially grateful for those conversations that stumped me, the breadth of knowledge and experiences I was exposed to, and for my incredible team at the SE Research Centre without which none of this would be possible.
