When our new friend we just met hours earlier Kassie Fraser calls at 8 PM and needs a truck at 8 AM the next morning, we get her a truck. We are proud to highlight our involvement in the National Centre for Indigenous Laws project at the University of Victoria. This distinctive Timber-Steel hybrid building, poised to become an iconic space on campus, integrates classrooms, research facilities, and gathering spaces dedicated to the study and practice of indigenous laws. Targeting LEED Gold certification, the building showcases point support CLT floor & roof panels, peeled log columns, and unique architectural geometry. Our role at Kalesnikoff involved close collaboration with the project team to synchronize the timber and steel structural components. We contributed through 3D modeling and shop drawings for Glulam, CLT, and Log columns, ensuring precision and coherence in design and execution. Furthermore, our team provided essential timber fasteners and hardware, applied protective membranes on CLT panels, and pre-installed beam hangers on glulam beams and columns for efficient on-site assembly.
