Last week, the Seeds Canada Board and their Senior Leadership Team came together to chart their strategic path forward. They came ready to work, and fully capitalized on the strength of the “intellectual curiosity” that was in the room! The team recognized the value of a dynamic approach to strategy, one that could adapt to the shifting landscape of their work. They found that incorporating both heads-down “think time” and collaborative brainstorming was valuable to designing a strategic plan that landed right for their diverse group. We’re so excited to see them continue to achieve their goals as they execute and realize the impact of their strategy! Barry Senft, Brent Collins Strategy Coaches: Kathy Andrew & Leanne Jones

Thank you Anthony Parker and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Plant Breeders’ Rights (PBR) Office for having Roy van Wyk and Mel R. join you for a couple days to learn how PBR varieties are registered!
Back in the field again as the 2024 growing season comes to harvest. Today the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Plant Breeders’ Rights (PBR) Office, is at Sollio Agriculture conducting examinations on new soybean varieties. We were very pleased to have Roy van Wyk and Mel R. of Seeds Canada join us to observe how we conduct PBR “Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability (DUS)” examinations. Establishing that a new variety is “DUS” forms the fundemental basis for obtaining PBR intellectual property (IP) protection under the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). #UPOV #soybean #gotothefield #seeyouinthefield #meetyouinthefield #PBRcommish
