As 2024 ends, we feel proud of what we achieved at SenseNet. This year brought growth, new challenges, and many moments where we made a real difference. We expanded our wildfire detection technology to protect more people, homes, and critical infrastructure like railways and water reservoirs. Through our partnerships with Rogers Communications, BluEarth Renewables, SkyScout Ai Innovations, Inc., Juvare, and several others, we brought our wildfire detection systems to more communities. We learned a lot this year from our projects and the amazing people we worked with. We feel excited about what’s next. Our goal to make wildfire detection faster and smarter became stronger, and this year was just the beginning. SenseNet recently attended the BC Climate Resilience Summit 2025. Hosted by UBC Sauder, the summit was a productive forum for cross-sector leaders, researchers, and policy thinkers to collaborate on actionable solutions for a changing climate. It was insightful to hear from John Vaillant – author of ‘Fire Weather: The Making of a Beast’. His keynote on the urgency of wildfire preparedness resonated deeply with our mission at SenseNet to leverage AI and sensor-driven solutions to enhance early detection, risk mitigation, and resilience. The discussions at the event centered on proactive solution development to mitigate climate risks for the protection of people and communities. We appreciated the opportunity to share our ideas and learn from forward-thinking leaders, and remain committed to furthering these important conversations. Excited to report that the District of Coldstream is keen to install the SenseNet early fire detection solution. Their report to council said “the Province of B.C. spent $1.1 billion on fire management in 2023 and continues to spend millions on fire management annually, and understanding that detecting and responding to fires at their earliest stage saves lives, structures, forests, the environment and reduces the costly burden of wildfire control."
