  • A big point of interest for SIRT the past few years has been in finding a workflow that can allow us to take a scan of a person and integrate them into a game engine believably and with functionality for facial and body animation. Since its launch in 2022, we've been a huge fan of Epic's metahumans and the potential it brings but the biggest downside we found with it was not allowing for custom skin implementation. There are other third party creators that have made it possible to transfer textures but we've never been quite satisfied with the results. We're here to showcase our workflow on how to get believable custom skin textures onto metahumans. Hope you find it helpful!

Love working with this team! Thank you SIRT Centre One of our ongoing and long-term objectives in building Strada XR has always been to remain at the forefront of technological advancements in virtual production, continually pushing innovation forward. But as you know, managing an enormous range of technologies can be complex and, at times, unwieldy. It became clear that aligning with the exceptional individuals at #SIRT and fostering a strong partnership would be a key and effective way to navigate these challenges and drive progress. This month has been extraordinary as our team pioneers several firsts in our LED volume. We have formally elevated our plate techniques with an emerging tool from Foundry, are moving swiftly to implement #Raytrace Live with Chaos and #VRAY leveraging #DLSS, and are eagerly enhancing our #Composure Live #ICVFX workflows with Epic Games. Partnering with SIRT ensures we maximize our learnings and continue to refine the innovative workflows we set out to achieve. When we talk about volume production in Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario, our strength lies in the relationships we cultivate and the premium experiences and services we deliver. A heartfelt thank you to Spencer Kenji I., Kevin Santos, Emerson Chan and as well as James Rowan—your expertise, dedication, and collaboration make all the difference. We are grateful for the knowledge, insight, and enthusiasm you bring to every oone of challenges and opportunities. #VirtualProduction #ICVFX #LEDVOLUME Ontario Creates

Our software team recently completed a project with our partner Spawnify! The goal of the project was to create a prototype for a system that could automate modifications to existing music tracks using A.I. This included stem splitting, tempo changes, key shifting and various mode changes. Our team put hours into learning music composition to help them better understand what kind of features to implement and how best to do it. We're proud of the prototype we were able to create and look forward to how it expands in the future! #research #music #education

What do Top Gun: Maverick, The Mandalorian, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have in common? They all harness the power of virtual production which has revolutionized filmmaking by leveraging technologies such as augmented reality and advanced motion capture to create realistic environments and effects on a virtual set. This week, CityNews visited Generator at Sheridan's SIRT Centre at Pinewood Toronto Studios to take a closer look at how students are gaining immersive experience in this cutting-edge tech through our 12-week Virtual Production micro-credential program. Full scholarships for all 20 seats in this unique program are provided by Warner Bros. Discovery Access Programs which creates pathways for Canadian creative and technical talent with an emphasis on championing voices from historically underrepresented groups, including Indigenous, Black, and racialized communities, as well as people living with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ2+ communities. Check out how this program is equipping students with the skills to thrive in the evolving film and media industry. Watch the full story ▶️ https://lnkd.in/gbPBXy9a

Here's a throwback to 2020 of one of our early virtual production shoots with🎸 Renforshort 🎸 ! Our VP team took care of bringing the creative vision for the background to life and optimizing it in Unreal Engine. This shoot was done for a Disney+ featurette for the movie Clouds and was one of the first times LED wall technology at this scale was used for a music video. The film crew was able to take advantage of the cove setup to allow the wall itself to act as a fill light with a soft box overhead for the key. #virtualproduction #musicvideo #renforshort #shoot #music #behindthescenes

Finding out what kind of job you want to commit to as a young adult can be difficult so when PathtoCareer Inc. approached SIRT about creating an immersive prototype for career education and guidance, we understood the importance. During this project, the SIRT software team worked closely with Manny N. from Path to Career to implement an experience focused on jobs in the field of accounting, allowing users to try out tasks required for these roles. This enables the capture of user feedback and evaluations to recommend new tasks that they might enjoy or let them know that this job might not be for them. The VR prototype will be the structural base for future research and development. We're proud of the results we achieved during this project and excited for the future of Path to Career's platform! #career #VR #softwaredevelopment

Generator at Sheridan continues to support our partners in the creative industries with innovative approaches and applications to the performing arts sector. Today, we hosted the École nationale de cirque (National Circus School)HUPR Research Centre for Human Potential at SIRT Centre's Stage 10 Soundstage in Toronto.  HUPR is an applied research centre out of the National Circus School that explores the richness of human potential through a transdisciplinary approach in which the performing arts entertain innovation. During the visit to SIRT, HUPR’s guests (Patrice Aubertin, HUPR’s General Director; Emmanuel Bochud, Director of Development and Innovation; Chris Gatti, Data Scientist; and Julie Théberge, Arts-Based Research) toured the soundstage before engaging in a formal discussion with three of Generator’s Research and Entrepreneurship Centres – SIRT Centre, the Centre for Applied AI and the Sheridan Centre for Elder Research - about opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaborations and how to leverage Generator’s innovation in the performing arts sector. Back in October, our V.P. team competed in the 48 Hour Film Project with the goal of proving that it was possible to create a high quality animated short film using today's virtual production tools in a tight timeframe. With a crew of 7 people the team created "A Key to Paradise" a short film about two treasure hunters seeking a mysterious treasure with a hidden truth. The team leveraged Epic's Unreal Engine 5, FAB assets and our Optitrack motion capture system to capture character animation, virtual camera and rigid bodies that would be used to animate sentient cubes. We're proud to say that our team won two awards at the recent award show this past weekend! They took home both Best Choreography and Best Special Effects! Special thanks to Jason Hunter from MRC Studio at Durham College for his voice acting talents and direction. #virtualproduction #awards #animation #visualeffects #48hourfilm #shortfilm
