LED lighting has been installed at more than 96% of Sonepar facilities, including offices, branches, and warehouses. Lumen, a Sonepar company, is proud to showcase the electrical industry’s first Automated Cable Cut and Automated Storage and Retrieval System, (ASRS) in North America. To accommodate the new automation system, Lumen expanded its Central Distribution Center in Laval, Quebec, by an additional 180,000ft², bringing the facility's total size to 565,000ft². Additionally, the system minimizes potential waste by selecting the optimal reel for each cable cut, making the entire process more efficient and sustainable. ♻️ “The technology supports Lumen’s future growth and productivity, by managing our increasing volume of inventory, fully automating the picking, and introducing conveyor transport with ASRS. On September 13th Lumen officially inaugurated the expansion of their distribution center in Laval, Quebec. The milestone event saw over 3000 customers, suppliers, associates. Stéphane Boyer, Mayor of Laval and Christopher Skeete, Minister for the Economy, Minister Responsible for the Fight Against Racism, Minister Responsible for the Laval region, Member for Sainte-Rose spoke and joined the ribbon cutting ceremony. With an $80 million investment and an impressive expansion to 565,000 square feet, this project marks a key step in Lumen’s growth.
