Vacationing where you have to own every detail isn’t a vacation. 85% of travel spending, planning and budgeting is done by women (even when it’s not their travel). 🤯 This tells us women have a huge opportunity to influence this market and the economy. It’s also a lot of responsibility to be managing this for your partner or household. That’s why we take the utmost care in thinking of the small details that make a big difference to our travellers. ——— Follow #Sororal and #TravelLikeASister for inspiring stories, travel updates, and a tribe of fearless women coming together to create a brighter, more equal future. #LinkedInTravel #ForWomenByWomen

As we celebrate International Women's Day this week, we are excited to share an incredible initiative by #WomenUnited that aligns perfectly with the theme, "Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress." From now until March 10, Women United is running a social media campaign, encouraging everyone to recognize and appreciate the women who have invested in our lives. Whether it's through mentorship, friendship, or championship, these women make a significant impact. Here's how you can support and join the initiative: ☑ Make a post: Share your story of how a woman has invested in you on your social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook). ☑ Tag them: @mention the women who have made a difference in your life. ☑ Tag us!: Be sure to mention United Way East Ontario - Centraide de l'Est de l'Ontario and SORORAL® so we can share and acknowledge your story. ☑ Use hashtags: Include #IWD2024 and #WomenUnited to spread the message. NOTE - For every social media tag, SORORAL® will generously donate $10 to Women United, supporting women and girls in our community. It's a simple yet powerful way to contribute to a more equitable and empowered future. 💜💜💜💜 ---- #investinher #womensupportingwomen #equalitynow Megan Ryder-Burbidge, MBA Linsey Sherman-Zekulin

The UN estimates that it will take up to 140 years for women to be represented equally in positions of power and leadership in the workplace. How discouraging and overwhelming is that? It’s enough to make a girl want to quit. Instead, we started a travel company. Sororal focuses our work in the travel industry because we know that over half of the jobs in this sector are held by women and that it supports twice as many women employers as other sectors. Travel & tourism provides women with more opportunity for empowerment than other sectors, and we’re here to support it by building trips that champion women-owned or led businesses and grassroots organizations that fight violence against women and girls. We can’t do it all, but we believe in the power of doing what we can. DM us for more info on what it means to #TravelLikeASister. —— #LinkedInTravel #WomenSupportingWomen

As #women, we understand the importance of #solidarity and #collaboration in achieving our goals. In the travel industry, this is especially true. Although it might be seen as an unconventional perspective, we firmly believe that working together, rather than competing, is essential (yes, you read that right!). Feminist principles teach us the importance of supporting and uplifting one another to achieve true equality. By working together, we can create a network of women-led businesses that support and empower one another. We can share resources, knowledge, and best practices, and create a collective voice that advocates for women's rights and representation in the travel industry. When we work together, we can create more opportunities for female travellers to explore the world safely and confidently while also creating economic security and social change for women around the world. #LinkedInTravel #equality #conscioustravel

Our Sororal x #Nicaragua trip supports Proyecto Miriam, a grassroots nonprofit organization that supports the development of women and children by promoting their right to education and a life free from violence. In Managua and surrounding areas, Project Miriam supports women who are experiencing violence by providing legal advice and accompanying them to court hearings, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Women’s Commissioner’s Office and the Ministry of the Family. In providing tools and assistance in accessing the justice system, the project works to strengthen the capacities and abilities of women to break out of the cycle of violence in which they find themselves. Our contribution of $1,000, on behalf of Sororal and our travellers, will go towards funding this important legal project. Sororal x Costa Rica supports Casa Luz, a home for young mothers and their children who come from situations of abuse, extreme poverty, and exploitation, located just outside San Jose. In addition to shelter, the team at Casa Luz provide young women with professional support and vocational training, as well as a preschool program for children. Our travellers have the chance to meet with Casa Luz’s Executive Director, and know that Sororal’s contribution of $1,000 will go toward funding Casa Luz’s stage one shelter program, with a focus on supporting young mothers escaping violence.
