We are proud to share that the Indigenous Prosperity Centre, a South Island Prosperity Partnership initiative, has been named to the Indigenomics Institute’s 2024 ‘10 to Watch’ List. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to Indigenous economic reconciliation and fostering long-term economic growth through innovative partnerships and community-driven initiatives. "As one of the attendees at the award ceremony, I found it to be a truly memorable experience," said Tarrin Sam, Communications and Engagement Coordinator. "Being surrounded by so many passionate individuals who share a vision for a thriving Indigenous economy was inspiring. Hearing the stories from fellow honorees reminded me why we do this work; it’s all about lifting each other up and making a real difference in our communities." The ‘10 to Watch’ List is an annual award recognizing leaders and initiatives that demonstrate excellence in advancing the Indigenous economy. Those named on the list are driving toward a $100 billion economic target by building unique and strategic businesses, partnerships, and initiatives that create value and innovation in the Indigenous economy. Being honored alongside other leaders shaping the future of the Indigenous economy highlights the importance of the work we do to strengthen Indigenous-led businesses and empower communities. A heartfelt thank you to the Indigenomics Institute for this acknowledgment, and congratulations to our fellow 2024 recipients.

CEO @ South Island Prosperity Partnership - Driving sustainable economic growth through diversification and innovation.
I had an incredible time sharing the stage with Susan Mowbray and my good friends Brodie Guy, C.Dir., and John Jack at the Summit this week. The Summit theme, Convene. Connect. Collaborate. truly resonates with our core values here at the South Island Prosperity Partnership. We delved into the necessity of diversifying beyond public sector growth and emphasized the potential of First Nations economic opportunities and innovation in driving the region's economic future. Though we barely scratched the surface, the conversation was rich with ideas on how we can unlock the full potential of our beautiful Island and Coast. Maybe a podcast is in order to explore these topics in greater depth?! 🤔 Read more ⬇️ #VIEASummit #ConveneConnectCollaborate #VancouverIsland #EconomicGrowth #SIPP Vancouver Island Economic Alliance | Island Coastal Economic Trust Indigenous Prosperity Centre | MNP | MNP Digital COAST (Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies)

NEW from the SIPP Blog: My latest piece takes a deep-dive (pun intended) into the strategy behind the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies (COAST) and why it's so strategically aligned to SIPP's strategy and the future of the entire Greater Victoria metropolitan region. What a week it's been! After years of behind-the-scenes planning and assessing various locations, we were finally able to host the GRAND OPENING of the new COAST Ocean Innovation Hub on Herald Street this week! Hundreds of people attended various events this week, PitchFest in partnership with VIATEC and VILS (Vancouver Island Life Sciences), and the grand opening itself, and a COAST member mixer on Wednesday night. With all this energy, I wanted to give our SIPP members and supporters some detailed background information about why COAST is so important to us, and why it will benefit the entire region, including all of our 13 municipalities.
