SS&M's Kari Hann talks to Adam Malik about the Young Professionals in the Auto care sector committee and building the YPA community.
New podcast! And an important one that focuses on the young professionals in our industry: https://lnkd.in/gYz6j4jn I chatted with Kari Hann, chair of the Young Professionals in the Auto care sector, the group that represents the industry’s under-45 professionals. She took over as chair this year and while we chatted earlier this summer about her journey into the aftermarket and the YPA's importance. I waited to put out the episode to now as we head into event season and the YPA has a few big events coming up over the next few months. Full disclosure, I’m on the YPA Committee so I’m all for building up the community and bringing in new members and having more opportunities. And this is a great time to join as we’ll meet up at AAPEX, host Student Aftermarket Day at Georgian College in November and get together for our Holiday Networking Reception in December. And it’s these events that are great for the young people of our industry to network and learn more about what the aftermarket is and what it has to offer. So in our chat, Kari dives into just what the YPA can offer, what young pros can learn — and how their employers can benefit from having their young professionals as part of the group. She’s focused on helping the community grow and hopefully draw in more support from the industry to support events, greater networking and professional development opportunities for the future of the industry.
