UPPER FLOOR RENOVATION: ELEVATED CHARACTER • Update home while respecting the natural character of the home • Increase the heat efficiency of the home • Repair floor structure • Create walk-in closet to maximize storage We started with a beautiful 100 year old heritage home in North Vancouver, which is not a bad place to start. We were able to modernize the space to meet the needs of a modern-day homeowner. That meant, among other things, a larger bedroom. However, the old home’s original finishings were a big reason why it was so beautiful. Thus, it was critical that we restore and/or preserve them, even though we also had to remove the chimney and repair the badly sagging floors. We also increased heat retention efficiency by removing wainscoting from walls to apply spray foam. PROJECT: SUSTAINABLY REMASTERED BUNGALOW Down to the Studs British Properties Sustainably Remastered Bungalow. A family of 2 approached Sprucehill for help reimagining their 1955 bungalow into the home of their dreams. Working with the existing structure and foundation, Sprucehill repurposed the main floor of the home to improve functionality and comfort, create space for hosting friends and family, and increase storage space.
