It's a weird time for just about every business owner I know. Thinking about the various things I've posted here on my Linkedin profile, I've shared some business stuff, some personal stuff and hopefully some stuff that has made a few of you chuckle. Honestly, I'd be satisfied with a few smirks. Really I'd like my smirk close ratio to be at least 3 smirks out of a possible 10 on average. That may seem high given various engagement models but stick with me here. Smirks might be the key to getting us all through the weird times. I'm thankful for the 4,781 people (as of writing this) who have at one time or another clicked the connect or follow button. I can't tell you how many smirks/day I've generated, but there must be some metrics available. As a matter of fact, I'm going to set my Smir-KPIs at 3/10 for the remainder of Q3 and a smirk stretch goal (SSG) of 4/10 for Q4. 😏 😏 😏 It means I'm gonna need 1,434 smirks by Sept 30 to hit my goal. Help me help you by smirking today. It doesn't cost a penny. Matter of fact - post a selfie of you smirking in the comments. Let's smirk in community with one another. Now if you're still with me here's some truth as I was saying: It's a weird time for just about every business owner I know. It's a weird time for most humans as matter of fact. I can count probably 3 people who definitely are doing great: Travis Kelce has got to be one of those 3 (he just signed a $100M deal with his brother and Amazon... He has a few Super Bowl rings and well there's another thing but... yea). Sam Demma is one of the three - a fantastic fellow focused on spreading good. Things also appear to be great for our pal Aaron Reynolds and Effin Birds *who will be my next Book Report guest ;) Yes, we all need more than just a smirk to 'right the ship'. But a smirk might lead to a nudge which might lead to a first step or a pivot which might lead to a change which might lead to something pretty excellent like a Rivian truck (just as an example and yes it was my birthday recently). Who knows what's possible. Shall we get started?

There’s a lot that goes into producing a video project that the average viewer likely have little-to-no awareness of. A lot of incredible teamwork led to a career highlight for me personally and created memories that will last a lifetime. This project Stature Films produced hand in hand with the Township of Georgian Bay took approximately 8 months start to finish. What started as a phone call from Jennifer asking how can we do something big for the community turned into a live-streamed concert film featuring Canadian Rock Royalty Our Lady Peace. As producers, we worked with Jennifer and her team to secure OLP, find a location to host the show on the shores of Georgian Bay (Delawana Resort 🤘). We then assembled a team of creative superhumans (Paul Steinberg csc and many others) to shoot the thing and some other technical artists in their own right to create a concert venue from scratch including sound and lights (Solotech Inc. Greg Wilkie ). All in there were probably 50 people on hand each doing their individual part to make a successful evening happen. The band even turned the recording of this show into a limited run Vinyl (how cool is that?) Pulling off a production like this was a thrill. If you are looking to do something big but don’t know where to start - give me a call and we’ll see what we can come up with together. We don’t often talk about the editing software and cloud storage we use at Stature. Or how we take steps to protect our clients information. Emily was surprised to find there are firms out there that don’t seem to consider clients privacy when it comes to keeping clients’ video data private. Would you all like to hear more from us about our systems? is that interesting?

Is Capcut safe to use? I know a big lawsuit against them (ByteDance/TikTok) was filed August 2023 but I can’t seem to find a follow up on what’s happening with the case. Meanwhile social/digital marketers on LinkedIn are still recommending it for use. Does it seem risky? Is Capcut keeping our likeness/voice/data safe?

Hi Linkedin people. We made this little video here for a landing page that you'd find if you clicked a link some place and it would take you to another place and yadda yadda. I liked the video so I'm posting it here too. 2024 is going to be a good year. Would you like to do some work together?
