🌟 The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) highlights the work of two CCSP members: the City of Charlottetown and the Town of Stratford. Thanks to their CCSP membership, these municipalities were able to define a project scope and secure Green Municipal Fund (GMF) funding. This support enabled them to hire a consultant who developed a comprehensive Strategy & Action Plan for implementing a sustainable procurement program. The result? A practical roadmap to guide the transition to more sustainable procurement practices that not only align with their environmental values but also strengthen their local communities. 🔗 Read the Full Story: https://lnkd.in/gMWwXajG #SustainableProcurement #MunicipalLeadership #ClimateAction #SupplyChain #CommunityImpact

CCSP members, do you have circular IT procurement examples to share? Check out this post from the Circular & Fair ICT Pact and get in touch with them!
We need your help: contribute to building case studies on sustainable ICT procurement. At Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact, our mission is straightforward yet ambitious: to make sustainable and fair ICT procurement the new standard. We’ve built our framework around key strategies: Buy Less, Buy Better, Use Better, and Use Longer. Achieving this goal requires collective effort, and we need your insights and experiences to push these boundaries even further. 👨🚀 👩🚀 🚀 If your organization has implemented these strategies—whether successfully or with challenges—your experiences can be valuable to others in the field. Even when things don’t go as planned, understanding what didn’t work is as valuable as knowing what did, offering powerful insights for those navigating similar paths. We are engaging in ongoing discussions about the technical, security, and behavioral challenges of extending the whole lifecycle of ICT products. Sharing your experiences with these issues can help identify solutions that others can apply. 🔎 To support and inspire this ongoing effort, we’re expanding our collection of case studies from various countries, with the goal of growing this knowledge base globally. These examples highlight (successful) implementations of circular ICT procurement practices and offer practical insights to guide other organizations. We’re actively looking for new case studies to add to this growing knowledge base. Explore existing ones here—all cases on our website are fully accessible: https://lnkd.in/eVNBddjn By sharing your experiences and insights, you’re not just contributing to the conversation—you’re helping to drive change across the industry. Feel free to send a direct message to Marieke Weerdesteijn / Ekaterina Smid Gankin if you'd like to learn more or if you prefer a private discussion. #change #IT #ICT #case #studies #examples #procurement #tender #buy #failforward #standupagain #procuring #greenIT #sustainable #fair

The US Federal Government Tackles Plastic Pollution! 🌍 The new Executive Order phases out all disposable plastics in procurement by 2035. Highlights include: - Federal agencies minimizing single-use plastics. - Promoting sustainable alternatives and innovative materials. - Enhanced regulations to protect oceans and waterways. - Public engagement in reducing plastic usage and supporting recycling.
