Last week at the UESI Pipelines conference, the T2 Utility Engineers team had the pleasure of being the main sponsor of the charity golf tournament at beautiful Heritage Point Golf Club in Calgary. In addition to the fun and camaraderie, the sold-out event supported Canadian-based IndigeSTEAM. Thank you to the other sponsors, everyone who participated, and congratulations to the tournament winners! #UESI #T2ue #HeritagePoint

This year's #UESIPipelines Conference is off to a great start! There are many outstanding sessions. Yesterday, Blaine Hunt, P. Eng., M. ASCE, got people thinking with his presentation on the Professional Engineer's Responsibility Using AI. This is a very timely topic raising awareness of important issues to consider. More to come! #T2UtilityEngineers #ExperiencedSUEConsultant #UESI

This month’s edition of the APWA reporter features an update on the APWA National Transportation Committee's priorities and progress, written by T2ue’s Baton Rouge Branch Manager Suzanne McCain, PE, who currently serves as the chair of the APWA Transportation Committee. The update, written under the theme “Enhancing mobility for all,” shares the committee’s goals and progress towards providing sustainable, cost effective, and safe systems to enhance livability and quality of life in our communities. We’re proud of Suzanne’s leadership and service on this national committee, and the insight her extensive experience in the Subsurface Utility Engineering industry allows her to provide. Roadside work zones can create hazards for both workers and drivers, including narrow lanes, sudden stops, changes to traffic patterns, and more. Remaining vigilant and proactively taking safety precautions is critical. When approaching or driving in a work zone: 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 – Traffic pattern, speed, and lane changes are common and work zones and should be expected. Slowing down allows you to better prepare for and react to these. 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞 – Unexpected stops frequently occur in work zones. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞 – Plan your route ahead of time, and when possible avoid work zones. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 – Be aware of all signage in work zones as they can indicate critically important information. Use caution around large vehicles – Large vehicles have a slower reaction time, so refrain from making sudden lane changes in front of trucks or buses that are trying to slow down. 𝐁𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭 – It is always important to be alert and avoid distractions when driving, but it’s especially important in work zones. By following precautions like these you can keep everybody safe, and even save a life! For more info visit the FMCSA website: https://lnkd.in/eu_BCYn #SafeT2 #WorkZones #Construction #Safety

Two weeks until the UESI Pipelines conference in Calgary! Our Canadian and US teams are looking forward to connecting with colleagues and even playing a little golf - we're sponsoring the charity tournament. If you're going, you'll want to attend Blaine Hunt's presentation 'AI use within Utility Engineering projects and the Professional Engineers responsibility'. It's a great topic, and be sure to stop by booth 508. See you there! #UESI #Pipelines2024 #Conference #Calgary
