A month ago, Tasu announced their involvement in Tlkemcheen Lodge - a camp built for workers who are currently re-building Lytton infastructure, after a devestating fire destroyed the town in 2021. Over the last month, Tasu has been working on completing phase 2 of this project, which will add a further 72 bedrooms to the existing 36 bedroom camp. This expansion will be pivotal to the contractors, as they continue to ramp up the rebuilding of the community. Employee Spotlight: Gord Marshall Gord is one of our Site Supervisors at Tasu and has worked with us for over 6 years! As a Site Supervisor, Gord is in charge of overseeing all daily activities on the job site. He oversees trade scope completion, conducts daily meetings, leads safety inspections and provides reports back to head office. Gord brings over 30 years of construction experience! During his time with Tasu, Gord has managed many of our major projects, from 500 bed camps to three story multifamily builds. During his free time, Gord loves to fish, hunt and find new ways to impress the love of his life. During the design phase, our client emphasized the importance of having sustainable and environmentally thoughtful housing, in consideration for the future of the community. In 2021, the village of Lytton, BC, experienced a devastating fire that destroyed most of the town and nearby homes. Three years later, the village is finally able to begin rebuilding the community they tragically lost. In order to support the Lytton re-build efforts, Tasu has partnered with LandSea and the Lytton First Nation Economic Development Corporation to build Tlkemcheen Lodge. Tlkemcheen Lodge is a remote camp for workers who will soon begin rebuilding important community infrastructure in Lytton. Tasu would also like to recognize Lytton First Nation for the acquisition of the land that the camp was built on, which was essential for bringing this project to life. As a project manager, Kevin manages each project's life cycle from contract award through handover, while prioritizing quality, schedule and stakeholder relationships.
