Here are the top 10 latest Canadian climate ventures with potential to remove half a gigaton of CO2 by 2050. 👇 I had the pleasure of sitting in on some amazing pitches from ventures that applied to join Foresight Canada’s latest #EarthTech2050 cohort this past month. These are the types of ventures that get me excited about cleantech, and make me proud to work with founders like these. Here are the top 10: 1. Carbonova (AB) - Mina Zarabian Carbon Capture & Storage Transforming greenhouse gases into high-quality carbon nanofibers, reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing processes. 2. Cytochrome (NL) - Martin Van Den Berghe Carbon Capture & Storage Coastal reactors using seawater and carbon-removing minerals to store CO2, offering a scalable alternative to traditional carbon storage methods. 3. Destiny Copper (ON) - Greg Hanna Circular Economy / Mine Tailings World’s first cleantech copper extraction process with minimal energy use, turning old mine tailings into high-purity copper crystals. 4. Green Manganese (BC) - Alexey Demykin New Materials / Products Revolutionizing manganese production with a sustainable, water-based process that significantly cuts CO2 emissions and eliminates harmful waste. 5. HEJMAS Agrifibre Technologies (AB) - Marek Hejduk Circular Economy / Forest Products Innovative pulping process using agricultural fibers, cutting emissions by 88% and reducing water use by 80%, setting new standards in sustainability. 6. NULIFE GreenTech (SK) - Jerry Kristian Waste Management Transforming industrial waste into carbon-negative assets through a continuous process that produces sustainable bio-oil. 7. Ontoly Carbon (BC) - Ashley Sarauer Real Estate Carbon Credit Software enabling carbon credit transactions in the building sector, simplifying the generation and certification process for decarbonization projects. 8. TerraFerno Geothermal Solutions (AB) - Iain Hollan Geothermal Patented flow control devices aimed at revolutionizing geothermal energy by boosting recovery rates and cutting drilling costs. 9. TreeTrack Intelligence Inc. (BC) - Amir Soleimani, Ph.D. Forest Products Drone-based reforestation service deploying Seedpods for rapid forest regeneration, promoting biodiversity and carbon sequestration. 10. VulcanX (BC) - Omar Herrera Hydrogen Cost-effective hydrogen production from natural gas pyrolysis, offering a low-emission alternative without relying on carbon sales. Congratulations to everyone who made it 👏 . Thanks Brittany G. for creating another incredible program. Looking forward to providing Go-To-Market support to this next cohort. #Foresight #EarthTech #Carbon #Cleantech #CanadaTech
