Burnout is so prominent in our culture due to the systems that dictate what and how work is done. We believe that Good Work is something that honours our work and rest. 👉The Reset Living Room is our space to discover what good work is! We currently have 40 spots available for members to join. 💛 Check it out at thisisreset.org/livingroom
About us
Hello, we're Reset and we are a social health non-profit based in Toronto, Canada. We are co-created by a community of people and are building on the land, labour and leadership of many more. This community includes 3 staff, 6 board folks, 8 co-founders, an 11 camp collective and around 500 community members who are primarily Canadian-based and most densely located in Toronto. Our story starts in 2015 when we hosted one of the first digital detox experiences in the world and we have since co-created 8 more Camp Resets, hosted almost 100 Pop Up Playgrounds, organize a world record hug and opened Community Living Room. We believe that fostering quality relations is an under-leveraged antidote to many of our individual and collective challenges so our mission is to explore new and renewed ways for humans to access connection and community.

Hi friends of Reset! 💛 It’s been awhile since our Living Room campaign earlier this year. We have some exciting updates at the Living Room and about Good Work (our co-working service). ⭐ We're introducing a new bi-weekly event called "reset”, where you can enjoy a phone-free hangout. Just like at camp, you're welcome to do anything you want, but without phones and cameras. 🤩 We're also added a vibrant new mural on our front facade, created by the artist Jess Campbell (@campjesss). ⭐ Also, we will be upgrading the seating in the backyard to get ready for the upcoming sauna season. 🌈 YAND (yes, and), we have 40 new spots for Living Room memberships → learn more about our different membership options and what’s included in the membership here: https://lnkd.in/eXJRT7bP Want to drop by and learn more? 👉We have drop-in passes available on a sliding scale! (please note that the Living Room will be closed from Sept 9-13 for Camp Reset) 💛

Good Work Giveaway! Tag a friend and we'll give you and them each a pass. Passes must be used by the end of September. Good Work is Reset's co-working service, designed to offer an alternative to the typical work culture that often leads to burnout and disconnection. Available from Tuesday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm (except for the week of Camp which is Sept 9-13), Good Work reimagines the traditional workspace by integrating opportunities for rest and play, helping individuals find a healthier balance between productivity and well-being. Thank you City of Toronto and FedDevOntario for enabling this giveaway via the Main Street Innovation Fund. This fund was introduced during the pandemic in order to revive local economy and businesses and has been essential to Reset's ability to prototype the Living Room and our journey to get here!

Camp Reset tickets are now in waitlist mode. 👉 What this means is that we've reached our goal of breaking-even, so we’ve closed our public sales channels. 💛 We’ve never done this before but we wanted to experiment with letting go of our desire to maximize sales and practice being content with what we’ve got. Going on waitlist will also enable us to focus more of our energy towards those already on the Camp '24 adventure. 🌈 👉If you’re still looking for a ticket, join our waitlist and we'll do our best to reach back until we reach our ceiling of 300 people (currently at 250) but at this point, we cannot guarantee a ticket. Last year, we introduced three cameras at Camp. 📸 This decision came after a multi-year debate because we valued the idea of Camp being a camera-free (and thus, surveillance-free) experience. 💛 However, we received valuable feedback from participants who felt that not being able to see Camp made it harder for them to decide if it was right for them. Given our commitment to always consider and prioritize access, we ultimately decided to introduce cameras but to do so in a way that centered consent, de-centred surveillance and reduced cultures of performance. 👉Therefore, who leads documentation is crucial to us and we are very grateful to have a team that is deeply aligned with our values. Documentation is led by Rise, our Story Director; Indica, our Photographer; and Duke, our Videographer. This team (the same as last year!) was chosen for a number of reasons and because each of them possesses a deep sense of self-awareness regarding consent and comfort. We also knew they would easily lean into an unusual assignment: do NOT capture everything, approach documentation from a relational lens and ensure those who opted-out were not captured. Thank you Rise, Indica and Duke for all the care and consideration!

Camp Reset is designed to be a Brave Space. ⭐ What is a brave space? A brave space is a supportive place where participants feel comfortable learning, sharing honestly and equally, and growing individually and together. Reset is not necessarily a place of comfort, but a place to stretch your comfort within portals and paradigms of play. Where we try hard things when we feel ready and find out new things about ourselves and others. Bringing back this brilliant video by the wonderful @dariusbashar who exemplifies with his life how creating brave space for ourselves and each other in community can transform how we see the world. And when we are transformed by our world... ...perhaps we begin to transform the world around us. ⭐ Today is the last day to get your ticket to Camp Reset this year before we open up the waitlist and subsequent late bird party. If you are looking for a brave step forward, consider meeting us all at Camp Reset this year! Much love! 💛
