Founded by 23-year-old entrepreneur Xirui Gu, the store aims to fill a gap in the local fashion scene by offering tailored suits for events like weddings and proms. Xirui, originally from China, moved to Canada in 2018 and has called Thunder Bay home for nearly four years. With degrees in Culinary Management, Marketing, and Business Administration, and three years of experience in fashion, Xirui brings expertise in wardrobe consulting and personal colour analysis. Inspired by a love for leadership and a desire to make a positive impact on the city, Xirui created Northern Soul Elegance to provide Thunder Bay with stylish, perfectly fitted suits that elevate confidence and celebrate individuality. Funding announcement of $10,000 from the CEDC Tourism Development Fund for the ON Youth Apprenticeship Program Coordinators Provincial Affiliation Conference! ✏️ This annual conference invites each school board, provincial school, and First Nation school across Ontario to come together to discuss how to provide the highest quality apprenticeship programs for secondary students. Throughout the event the Ontario Council for Technology Institute (OCPA) will share resources, strategies, and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of the youth apprenticeship programs across Ontario. The event welcomed over 150 out-of-town visitors which contributed approximately $180,000 in economic impact.
