We've been keeping a secret! 📣🎉 At the end of this past May our Director of Analytics, Dr. Luke Eckersley, traveled to Shift Imaging in Grande Prairie and successfully completed our very FIRST hands-on sonographer outreach training! During his time there, he trained 10 sonographers and gave a lunch-and-learn session on how to better recognize Congenital Heart Defects during regular obstetric ultrasounds. Each participant gained 4 CPD credits provided by our friends at Sonography Canada. In addition to the amazing educational opportunities, each trainee earned a Tiny HeartsCan Pin, funded by the Western Canadian Children's Heart Network. Keep your eyes out and let us know if you spot one of these pins in the wild as we continue to roll out our pilot program across Alberta this upcoming fall and winter! "The educational seminar was top tier and appreciated by all who had the privilege of Dr. Eckersley's tutelage." - Shift Imaging Participant. #CHD #TinyHeartsCan #1in100 #training #healtheducation #education #heart #obstetrics #ultrasound #sonographer #sonography #healthcare #MFM #birthdefects #milestone #achievement #expectingmom #baby #newborn #pregnancy #pregnant #testimonial #nonprofit #charity #grandeprairie #alberta

A couple of weeks ago, this email popped in my inbox: "DAVID!! I DID IT. Officially a registered charity!" It was from Amy Porter, a colleague who continues to inspire and amaze! You see, in September 2022, Amy started a nonprofit Tiny HeartsCan Foundation, where Amy has worked tirelessly to improve outcomes and the prenatal detection rates for infants with Congenital Heart Defects. Then, almost exactly 2 years after founding her organization, she achieved a major milestone...moving to the next level by becoming a registered Canadian charity! Will you join me in celebrating Amy's fantastic news? Maybe you can give her a shout out here (or on Insta, Facebook or TikTok)? And, after you read about the incredible work TinyHeartsCan does, maybe you'd even consider making a donation: https://lnkd.in/gUwJr8AS?
Tiny HeartsCan Foundation is now a registered charity in Canada! Help us celebrate this incredible milestone by donating today - all donations of $25 or more are eligible to receive a tax receipt, and consider becoming a monthly donor! Money raised will go towards creating educational resources for expecting parents, as well as funding our hands-on sonographer training initiatives across Alberta - and we have an exciting announcement coming up about that too!
