Our hearts go out to all those impacted by recent wildfires. Amidst the evacuation alerts and orders happening around B.C. and Alberta, we understand that plans may be rapidly changing for travellers and evacuees. Visitors may be coming to Prince George unexpectedly, and we are here to offer a soft landing. We have put together a page called, Travel Support. It is our hope that this resource will provide people--whose travel plans have changed, or those who have been evacuated from their hometowns--with information on places to see along alternate routes or things to do/experience in Prince George (Note: the page will be updated regularly to reflect current conditions). READ IT HERE ➡ https://lnkd.in/gxuNeTWN Thank you to all the tourism and hospitality workers, and businesses, who have already shown a tremendous amount of care and compassion to those caught in unfortunate and unexpected circumstances. #takeonPG

Frog, Beaver, Caribou, Grouse and Bear. These are Lheidli T'enneh Nation's five Clan symbols, which now adorn the side exterior of House of Ancestors in Prince George. They honour history, are educational, and meant to spark conversation amongst visitors and residents about the unceded traditional territory of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. Members of our team were grateful to attend the unveiling of the art installation, funded by the provincial government's Destination Development Fund, on June 25. The event, organized by LTFN Councillor and TPG Board of Director Crystal Gibbs, was celebrated with drumming and songs by the Khast'an Drummers, and a BBQ with proceeds going to the Elders' Society. House of Ancestors is a LTFN-owned and operated conference and meeting space, offering full catering services (and a cafe!). It draws people in from out of town each year. Next time you get to visit, don't forget to look up to see the beautiful reminder of the LTFN who tended and cultivated the land we now get to live, work and play on—you can't miss it!
