Cities are where we call home. We know they’re far from perfect — and utterly besieged by cars — but we’re fiercely passionate about making them better places to live, raise kids, and grow old. It’s why we’re working so hard to make car-free transportation the default way of getting around, and help transform our cities for the better. Here’s our vision for Transit and the future of cities: vision.transitapp.com ✨ ~~ Les villes sont notre chez-nous.

Good Morning Baltimore! We climbed our way to the top of Federal Hill and got all our Pink Flamingos in a row to partner up with MTA Maryland and we couldn’t be more thrilled 🦩🚍🎉 We’ve been cooking up a real feast for riders together, starting with a hearty helping of free Royale just for them. But to make sure the only thing crabby in Baltimore is what gets pulled out of the Chesapeake Bay, we’ve also got a fresh batch of Rate-My-Ride surveys and Rider Happiness Benchmarking ready to spice things up like a fresh bottle of Old Bay 🦀 Make sure to leave room for dessert though, because the marshmallow atop this transit snowball is looking extra sweet: live detours, coming soon 🍧

Duty calls! We’re putting our hockey allegiances aside and joining forces with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to rally against our common urban foe: detours ⚔️🚧🛡️ For the next 12 months, our detour detection pilot will valiantly defend Toronto’s bus and streetcar commutes from the woes of unexpected diversions. It will detect detours right as they happen, display their rerouted paths, and guide the city's 300k+ monthly Transit user stronghold to temporary stops all across the noble lands of Canada’s largest transit system 🗺️ Read more about it here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g4rFn_C9

Take some dedicated public servants, add some spicy conversation starters, and what do you get? A day of real talk about what it actually takes to make public transit work for riders 🏛️🌶️🚌 Our recent Transit Roundtable in Philly brought together some of our public transit heroes. Staffers from two dozen transit agencies joined us and together we dove into the nitty-Gritty – from real-time feed refresh rates, to communication flows when service goes sideways, to the next big app feature from Transit. They say you should never meet your heroes. Luckily, ours never disappoint. Check out our digest of the day’s events: https://lnkd.in/dGZ3-yVt

Good news, y’all: CapMetro and Transit have partnered up, and we’ve dusted off our green bus-battered boots to kick off some mighty exciting projects with them! 🤠 Starting with free Royale for all riders and Rate-My-Ride surveys to get their direct feedback, we’re fixin’ to help folks make the best of their commute and improve service 👑 But even multimodal transit options are bigger in Texas, so stay tuned as we get saddled up with on-demand service and bikeshare integrations by the end of the month 🏜️

The Transit team is jumping into Philly for APTA Tech, and the wooder’s just fine! 🚰 😎 It’ll always be sunny at booth 307 where you’ll find many of the gang’s familiar faces, as well as two of our newest hires: partner success lead Fenella O'Brien, and project management lead Christina B. ☀️ We’ll have plenty of brotherly love and Rate-My-Ride data to share, thanks to the over 375k riders across the US that used our feature in June to rate the quality of their trips. Come see how you fared! Kaj Huddart will also be moderating a panel on open payments with CTDOT’s Daniel Baker and Monterey-Salinas Transit’s CIO Michael Kohlman. You can catch that on Tuesday August 6th at 11 AM EDT. 🧠 Finally, for those craving a taste of the real Philadelphia™️: our very own jawn connoisseur, Beth R., has a hand-picked list of spots for you to check out while you’re in the home of the Broad Street Bullies. 📍 https://bit.ly/3Ag6JAz Get the full inside scoop 👉 https://bit.ly/4dod2R3 See youse guys there - Go Birds! 🦅 💪

Immigrants make up nearly 1 in 6 of our app users in the US (and almost 1 in 3 in Canada!). They’re more likely to ride transit to work, less likely to have access to banking services, and make 🚌 lots 🚌 of cross-system transfers. See where (and how) transit agencies are working to serve immigrant riders, in our latest transit rider survey deep-dive  👉 https://lnkd.in/e233axNb

On-demand is in demand! 🚐💚🚕 UITP's global committee of experts stopped by our office last week to learn how we're using data standards to bring more on-demand and taxi services into Transit’s multimodal mix! Our work with MobilityData means that no matter which agencies are involved, or which companies they work with, everybody can speak a common digital language.
