March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is the third most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide and a significant cause of death despite advances in prevention, early diagnosis and treatment. Did you know TRIO has a Gastrointestinal Cancers Scientific Committee? This Scientific Committee, chaired by Dr.Zev Wainberg, supports TRIO’s mission of changing the lives of cancer patients by conducting trials that make a difference. TRIO is collaborating with TORL Biotherapeutics, LLC to conduct a Phase I trial evaluating an antibody-drug conjugate directed against cadherin 17 in patients with colorectal cancer. Innovation brings us closer to more effective and life-saving treatments for colorectal cancer patients

World Triple Negative Breast Cancer Day, held on March 3rd, is a reminder that triple-negative breast cancers (TNBC) remain the most difficult to treat breast cancer subtype. #TNBC accounts for about 10-15% of all breast cancers and continues to be the subtype with the highest recurrence and mortality rates. This is primarily due to the lack of three key receptors essential for targeted endocrine and HER2-directed therapies (Estrogen Receptor, Progesterone Receptor and Human Epidermal Growth Factor 2 Receptor). Treatment of TNBC can be challenging but progress is being made. Advances in immunotherapy and precision medicine as well as a dynamic research landscape, are bringing hope of curing more patients. At TRIO, we are committed to changing the lives of cancer patients by conducting trials that make a difference. Let´s raise awareness, support research, and stand with those affected by TNBC.
