The Telecommunications Risk Management Association of Canada (TRMA Canada) is a non-profit corporation formed in May 2000 by telecommunication industry leaders with the aim of promoting cooperation among Canadian Telecommunication companies to reduce fraud and bad debt. We are dedicated to the exchange of business information, ideas, and experiences related to credit risk management in the Canadian telecommunication Industry. Membership in TRMA Canada gives you valuable access to industry knowledge and cutting-edge skills, as well as frequent networking opportunities with other telecom risk management professionals. We are also a chapter of the US-based TRMA that was formed in 1997. We are able to broaden your access to vital tools, information, networking and educational opportunities. What We Do Goals -Introduce members to innovative Credit and Collections Technology Solutions -Promote educational and awareness programs -Develop industry studies and other joint initiatives to reduce industry losses -Perform Canadian and North American benchmarking to identify and share best practices -Share insights on regulatory and legislative issues (ie: CRTC) to advocate industry positions -Share best practices and Credit and Collections Strategies from a general perspective Mission Statement TRMA Canada promotes cooperation within the telecommunications industry to mitigate risk, reduce fraud and bad debt for the benefit of the industry, individual members, and paying customers.

The use of Behavioral Biometrics is an emerging science and toolset in the fraud detection space. Seth Ruden from BioCatch shared relevant examples with conference attendees of how other telcos have found lift against account abuse and are effectively utilizing these technologies to improve outcomes in their environments.
