I've witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to creating winning ads. After analyzing countless ad accounts and studying thousands of creatives, I've found a consistent pattern that separates the winners from the rest. 😀 Get inspo from TikTok: When creating hooks and videos, you don't always have to reinvent the wheel. Instead, look to social media platforms like TikTok, where you’ll find algorithm-approved, battle-tested hooks and videos. This approach has proven effective for my team and me. Sure, tools like Chat gpt and customer reviews are good, but nothing beats studying what's already successful. The Uglier the better: You don’t need to make over-produced UGC. When viewers see your ads, they're likely in a relaxed state - at home, in bed, or even on the toilet. Even though engaging edits and fast transitions may seem good, we've found that 'ugly' ads often resonate better. They feel relatable. For example, lately, videos in the car or casual, 'in-the-moment' clips have been winners for our clients. Visuals, Visuals, Visuals: Eye-catching visuals are crucial, especially for hooks. Don’t show the product in the first shot. This screams 'ad,' which will turn your audience off. Instead, focus on creating eye-catching visuals and clear call-outs that entice viewers to keep watching. Mashups are king: We've noticed that videos combining multiple creators consistently outperform single-creator content. As audiences become more savvy to UGC, they're more likely to suspect single-creator content as paid ads. Mashups, on the other hand with multiple creators, create a sense of social proof that can be more convincing.
