Ontario first at University Health Network ➡ "Expanding access to nuclear medicine scans is invaluable for meningioma patients" - Dr. Patrick Veit-Haibach, MD, Prof. Dr., Director of the PET/MR Program at UHN and our Deputy Radiologist-in-Chief.
In collaboration with Nuclear Medicine at UHN, radiation oncologists at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre are amongst the first in Ontario to use Positron Emissions Tomography (PET) to guide treatment in patients with meningiomas, a common type of benign brain tumour. Unlike MRI or CT scans, PET provides more detailed images of tumour function, enabling radiation therapists to precisely target and attack tumour cells. Doctors can now apply for PET access on a case-to-case basis for patients with meningiomas. Learn more 👇 https://bit.ly/3Xez2ay
