On November 19, Volunteering on (Non-Profit) Boards: How and Why to Join a Board explores what it means to be a non-profit board member and how you can contribute in a meaningful way – to benefit both you and your community! By the end of this workshop, you will be able to: ◆ Identify different types of non-profit organizations, non-profit leadership and decision making. ◆ Assess your strengths, opportunities, and availability for various forms of volunteer work in non-profit organizations. ◆ Examine expectations and risks associated with being a Board member. ◆ Identify practical next steps to look for and select from available board opportunities.
