Our vision is an inclusive community, where non-profits can achieve their fullest potential and drive sustainable change throughout the province and beyond. Vantage Point promotes connected communities by nurturing a strong non-profit sector. We achieve this by delivering high-quality training, resources, and advocacy that builds connection, creativity, and impact in the sector.

We’re hiring a Policy and Advocacy Specialist to work closely with government officials, sector partners, and the BC Non-Profit Network to drive impactful policy change, strengthen sector capacity, and elevate the role of non-profits in shaping public policy! The successful team member will conduct policy analysis, produce policy briefs and reports, coordinate advocacy campaigns, and support strategic projects such as sector impact studies. This bursary program is a fantastic opportunity for community foundations in BC to receive financial support for workshop fees or multi-day training. Bursaries are available for: ◆ One half-day workshop bursary or partial support for multi-day Labs or Custom Training. Eligibility: To be eligible for a bursary, you must be a community foundations in BC supported by Vancouver Foundation.     Learn about becoming a non-profit board member with Corbett Gildersleve! On November 19, Volunteering on (Non-Profit) Boards: How and Why to Join a Board explores what it means to be a non-profit board member and how you can contribute in a meaningful way – to benefit both you and your community! By the end of this workshop, you will be able to: ◆ Identify different types of non-profit organizations, non-profit leadership and decision making. ◆ Assess your strengths, opportunities, and availability for various forms of volunteer work in non-profit organizations. ◆ Examine expectations and risks associated with being a Board member. ◆ Identify practical next steps to look for and select from available board opportunities. We offer this workshop free to individuals in BC who are new to non-profit board governance (with less than a year's experience), who are able to participate in English, and who identify as one or more of the following: Youth (aged 18-35), Indigenous, Black, Person of colour, Person with disability, 2SLGBTQIA+, or Newcomers to Canada.
