🔋 Volt-Age Industry-Academia Meetup #3 Recap! 🔋 On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of hosting our third informal meetup session with industry leaders and academics at Concordia University. This session connected professionals and researchers from different fields to explore collaborative opportunities in sustainable energy and engineering. We were thrilled to have Jean-Philippe Hardy from Ambioner engineering firm as a speaker. He shared insights into Ambioner's impactful projects across Canada and presented exciting partnership ideas to bridge academia and industry, including: - In-situ boiler efficiency monitoring and parameterization - Data processing from control systems and energy suppliers - Automated fault detection in buildings - Thermal storage solutions for medium-to-large buildings Joining us from the National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada (NRC), Heike Schreiber shared the NRC's commitment to supporting academics in industry-linked research, reinforcing the importance of collaboration to drive innovation and impact. 🔋 Advances in Battery Technology Discussed at ABAA-15 Day Three🌍 Today at ABAA-15, we began with a series of cutting-edge presentations that explored new directions in sustainable and efficient battery solutions: 🔬 Advancing Battery Materials: Prof. Gerbrand Ceder (UC Berkeley) introduced promising developments in single crystal DRX cathodes, which offer long-lasting performance and earth-abundant resources. 🌱 Latest in Lithium-Manganese-Oxide Research: Michael Thackery (Argonne National Lab) shared recent progress in improving electrochemical properties for future applications. ⚡ Sustainable Chemistries for Next-Gen Batteries: Jagjit Nanda (Stanford) presented innovative approaches for environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery cathodes. 📚 100 Years of Debye-Huckel Theory: Prof. Atsuo Yamada (University of Tokyo) revisited and redefined key principles shaping modern battery science.
