As we head into Thanksgiving weekend, we’ve rounded up some fun facts about how our customers’ holiday traditions translate to sales in our stores! 🍂 🥧Pumpkin pie is the pick of the patch coast-to-coast, except for our Quebec customers, who prefer pecan. 🍞 We sell the most stuffing in two of our New Brunswick stores: Saint John and Miramichi. 🍗 From October to December, we sell the most turkeys from our Thunder Bay, ON store and the most hams in Gander, Nfld. As our customers plan their celebrations, they can count on us to help them serve a Thanksgiving feast at an easy to stomach price point. Customers can find a 10-lb turkey for under $20 – enough to feed a family of 4-6! We have great prices on other Thanksgiving dinner staples too, like stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pie. We were proud to welcome Doug McMillon, President and CEO of Walmart Inc., Kathryn McLay, President and CEO of Walmart International, and Guilherme Loureiro, Regional CEO for Walmart Canada, Chile, Mexico and Central America, to our Store Support Centre for a special town hall this week! During the town hall, Doug, Kath and Gui spoke with our associates about what it means to be a people-led, tech powered company and how we can leverage the best learnings from across our international markets to better serve our customers here in Canada. While they were in town, Doug, Kath and Gui also visited our Oakville, ON store. They got to meet and recognize amazing associates like June and Peggy, who both recently celebrated 50 years of service with Walmart Canada! Thank you for the great visit! #Walmart #WalmartCanada

Today we reflect and honour survivors, their families and communities affected by the legacy of residential schools for Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Through orange shirts sold at Walmart from Indigenous Proud, we’re pleased to share that 100% of the profits will be donated to the Official Orange Shirt Society and Indian Residential School Survivors Society. This year's orange shirts feature artwork by Natasha Root, who is from the Listuguj Mi’gmaq First Nation in Quebec. Here’s what Natasha shared about her design: “In almost every tribe, a wolf is a sacred animal. They are the empowerment of hunting, protection, loyalty, strength and success. A wolf represents the humility that allows us to guide our children. This design serves as a timeless reminder that, regardless of the era, our children will always matter.” Watch the video below to learn more about the meaning behind Orange Shirt Day and its founder Phyllis Webstad.
