Canadian Islamic History Month aims to celebrate, inform, educate, and share with fellow Canadians the rich Muslim heritage and contributions to society! 🕌 We wanted to share about an organization that you can explore to learn more: Islamic Heritage Month Canada (IHMC). Canada’s Muslim communities embody a diverse and enriching mix of traditions, languages, dialects, and experiences that contribute to Canadian society. IHMC aims to shine a light on Muslim history in Canada and how Canadians of Muslim heritage have contributed over the years. More than 50% of 2SLGBTQIA+ Canadians aren’t comfortable being out in their workplaces. (Pride at Work Canada, 2022) The most common reason why is simple: fear. “What keeps people still in the closet at work is mostly fear. When we look at what’s really under the hood of this fear, we know that it’s fear of losing one’s job, not receiving equal pay for equal work, not receiving the same career growth opportunities, or not being supported in the same way as others.” - Scott Dobroski, VP of Global Corporate Communications for Indeed.
