It's always a great day when we get updates from clients! It is so nice to hear how they are doing and receive feedback on their time with our programs. This lovely message comes from one of our Asylum Seekers Assistance Program (ASAP) clients, we thank them for sharing with us! #WesleyCares #ClientFeedback #CommunitySupports

About us
Wesley is a long-standing local non-profit, offering support for people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and barriers in the community. We provide programs and services to meet diverse community needs in Hamilton as well as Halton Region and Brantford – Brant. As a multi-service organization, we offer Children, Youth & Family Services, Housing & Homelessness Services and Newcomer & Community Services. The long-term impact of our programs includes improved education, successful employment and supportive independence. As an organization, we are innovative, creative, evidence-based and financially responsible. We began in 1955 with one program in the basement of Wesley United Church in downtown Hamilton and now offer more than thirty different programs in twenty different locations. Wesley’s services are possible through a broad base of funding support from government, business, foundations, churches and individuals. Wesley’s legal charitable name is Wesley Urban Ministries. In 2018, an operating name of Wesley was registered and is the forward-facing name of the organization.

Meet Alkhouli, whose family made the incredible journey from Syria to Canada. After years of hardship and displacement, he and his wife, both in their 70s, have found safety in Hamilton. Thanks to support from our Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP), they are settling in and receiving critical medical care — though their hearts remain heavy for family left behind. Their story is a reminder of the importance of compassion and support for refugee seniors as they rebuild their lives in new countries. Yesterday was a busy day at Wesley! We also had a great visit with Hamilton City Manager Marnie Cluckie, who toured Wesley’s kitchen, newcomers programs and the special care unit. In this photo, she’s holding a sign made by a ten-year-old child in our Asylum Seeker's Assitance Program, expressing how much they ❤️ Hamilton! Standing next to Marnie is Andrew, an SCU client who is now living indoors at Wesley after 5 years outside. We're proud to share our work with city officials and always look forward to more visits! Thank you Marnie! #CommunitySupport #NewcomeServices #HousingSupport #WesleyCares City Of Hamilton

Yesterday, our Rashed (CEO), Robyn (Director of Housing and Outreach Services) and Cynthia (SCU Supervisor) were happy to host City Of Hamilton Ward 12 Councillor Craig Cassar! They had the opportunity to view a room that is now ready for an unhoused person with substance use issues at the Special Care Unit as part of the City’s funding of additional shelter beds. We're so grateful for this funding and for visits from Councillors like Craig, who want to learn more about what we're doing at Wesley! #WesleyCares #CommunitySupport
