Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. Oxygen-carrying blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs. Brain injury can begin in as little as 3 minutes. This is less time than it takes emergency medical services to arrive in almost all cases. That's why it's important for bystanders to step up and do #CPR – even if it’s not perfect. Every second counts. Swipe to learn more. Learn CPR, this #CPRMonth, and save a life: https://bit.ly/3YJlTs5.

  • This Diabetes Awareness Month let’s make time to learn about the realities of living with diabetes and help advocate for a better future for everyone affected. We all have the same number of hours in a day, but those living with diabetes have to dedicate a significant amount of their time and energy to managing this complex chronic condition. If you need support or advice, talk to your primary care provider. They can connect you to a wealth of resources, including dietitian services. You can also access free workshops from Alberta’s Primary Care Networks online: https://bit.ly/3WWbI2K #DiabetesAwarenessMonth #ABHealth #PrimaryCareNetworks

  • Happy Halloween from WestView PCN! 🎃 Make sure trick or treating is both a fun and safe activity for your little monsters with these safety tips: 👻 Choose bright costumes that are highly visible. Add reflective tape to further increase visibility. 👻 Consider using hypoallergenic makeup instead of masks that may impair breathing or vision. 👻 Be sure costumes are loose enough to be worn over warm clothing, but not so long they become a tripping hazard. Partners for Safety vehicles will patrol communities on Halloween night to provide a visible safety resource for parents and trick-or-treaters. Have fun and stay safe! #HappyHalloween #TrickorTreatSafely #PartnersforSafety
