Over the past 6 years, creditcardGenius and moneyGenius have awarded $18,000 in scholarships to Canadian students. Our first annual scholarship for creditcardGenius was announced in 2019, and the first annual scholarship for moneyGenius was announced the following year in 2020 – which means this year marks our 6th and 5th annual scholarship awards, respectively. To apply, students must submit a 500+ word essay describing their relationship with money (and meet certain criteria). We think this is an excellent opportunity for young adults to reflect on the role money has played in their lives and discover how they would like that role to look in the future. Through this process, we are also able to connect applicants with resources and tools, found on both of our websites, that will guide them on their personal finance journeys. We are proud to support Canadians in their education, and this year we’re excited to give another $2,000 away from each site to 2 more deserving recipients.
