Sometimes, it's simple. Releasing tidbits of information that educate you about them (or what they offer). Entertaining you with memes. Or even offering a practical solution to a common problem you have. Regardless of the complexity, every content strategy has a singular purpose: to ensure you remember them when it's time to make a purchase. Randell Mauricio outlines how to create and scale your own content strategy in a blog post for Collective 54. We might be a little biased, but we think it's worth checking out.

Ponder this for a minute: "Today’s buyers need up to 27 touch points before making a purchase decision" 🤯 (dramatic pause) While this number has been tossed around for a while, it hit me hard when reading this article from Randell Mauricio on the Collective 54 blog. Cause we're seeing this in our business too. And I'm buying products and services like this as well. This doesn't mean 27 cold calls or emails. This is 27 touch points across the entire buying decision - and that's an average. For someone who is more data-driven, it may be more. For intuitive decision makers, maybe less. Case in point - I recently hired a consultant to help with some business work. All of the touch points that drove that decision: - LinkedIn posts - YouTube videos - Podcast interviews - Being recommended by a peer - Email newsletter - Medium articles - Text messages And I'm sure there are things I didn't even realize played into it. While he may think I came out of nowhere, I've been in the "hiring him" mode for the last several months but recently activated to make a move. Ok, so let's get back to the 27 touches. Either way, a monthly blog isn't going to cut it. If you're trying to "figure out" your content strategy in 2024, it's not a clear cut as it was 10 years ago.
