This past Friday, October 25th, 2024, the York Marketing Association (YMA) proudly hosted FYCC 2024, our annual First Year Case Competition, where 24 ambitious first-year students paired up to dive into the diverse and dynamic world of marketing. This year’s case centered around an imagined organic fast food company in the GTA, Seed & Spoon, facing ongoing challenges with brand awareness and increased competition since the pandemic. From brainstorming innovative ideas to crafting compelling presentations, these talented students showcased their creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork in addressing Seed & Spoon’s challenges in fostering customer loyalty and engagement. It was inspiring to witness their passion for marketing and dedication to learning, all while navigating their first big case competition. A special shoutout to our esteemed judges—Akash Sidhu, Alireza Iman and Nabiha —who shared their expertise and invaluable feedback, helping make this event a transformative experience for all participants. Congratulations to all our competitors and top 3 teams! 🎉 🥇 First Place: Marketing Mavericks Alexander Koutakos and Elijah Borges 🥈 Second Place: Phuongter Pan Anh Phuong and Nicole Pan 🥉 Third Place: KD LTD.
