Streamlining gearbox assembly! ⚙️ To optimize their gearbox assembly process, SEAT Components faced a critical challenge: reducing assembly errors, increasing productivity, elevating worker safety, and controlling costs—all in one comprehensive effort. To tackle this, Universal Robots and SEAT Components transformed their assembly line by introducing ten UR10 collaborative robots to automate complex, repetitive tasks. The result? Productivity increased, assembly precision improved, and operational costs declined. For Universal Robot’s collaborative robots, we supplied our HRC 2-jaw parallel collaborative gripper which impresses with a gripping force adjustable across four manual levels, ensuring maximum safety in all applications, even during emergency stops or power outages. 🦾 Further, the solution brought a new level of efficiency through just-in-time manufacturing, allowing SEAT Components to quickly adapt to changes in demand. The cobots integrated seamlessly into SEAT’s existing production processes, and the most significant outcome - a reduction in physical strain on workers: Universal Robots’ cobots now handle the unloading of 18,000 gears daily, a demanding task previously performed by SEAT Components employees. In the automotive coating process, openings in the vehicle body are sealed with adhesive pads to provide corrosion protection. In this solution from ASIS GmbH, four KUKA robots seal holes in various car bodies with extremely short cycle times and maximum precision, incorporating multiple Zimmer Group automatic pneumatic tool changers from our WWR series.
