The Opportunity

Aecon Industrial is seeking our next passionate project manager to help us execute on exciting and complex industrial projects in Ontario. Reporting to the VP of Industrial East Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in the success of our business unit.

What you'll do here;

Accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed, including;

  • Transition to construction, monitors construction infrastructure and critical path
  • Establishing and maintaining project budget
  • Enforces change procedures
  • Establishes schedule and staffing plans
  • Negotiates and executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Chairs project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for Aecon
  • Ensures all project reporting is accurate and timely
  • Oversees testing, quality, and safety
  • Manages client and vendor relationship
  • Project risks and issues are logged and managed
  • Ensures all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins


Is Also Responsible For

  • Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis
  • Financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets
  • Overseeing procurement including materials and subcontractors


What You Bring To The Team

  • 5-10 years of construction experience
  • Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Works
  • Previous Industrial Experience is considered a major asset
  • Willingingness to travel for work is required
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline
  • General knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology
