  • Flying to Montréal? 🛩️ To transfer between the 𝗬𝗨𝗟 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 and the city (and back again), you have a few options. Let's check them out! 🚗 Montréal’s ride-sharing application 𝗘𝘃𝗮 (link below)was launched in 2019 by a group of enterprising university students looking to create a cooperative model. Uber is also available. 🚕 Traditional taxis are available. But if you're feeling fancier, limousines are an option. To find a limousine or taxi, go to the arrivals level near the central exit, where a dispatcher will assist you. 🚌 Want the most ecological/economic option? A public bus service called the 𝟳𝟰𝟳 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The bus provides a direct line between the airport and downtown Montréal. 🚊 Good news! Montréal is in the process of building a direct train link to the airport. Forecasted for completion in 2027, the city’s new 𝗥𝗘𝗠 (Réseau express métropolitain) train will link downtown Montréal directly with the airport via Central Station in just 20 minutes — a few steps from the city’s convention centre, the Palais des congrès de Montréal. • Waste not, want not! ♻️ Montréal's convention centre — the Palais des congrès de Montréal — has announced a collaboration with Polytechnique Montréal to address event waste. Part of an integrated artificial intelligence project initiated by IVADO, the collaboration will be led by a group of Software Engineering students, with an objective to develop an intelligent system to manage waste generated by events at the Palais. Details: 🗑️ The students’ mission will be to design an intelligent system capable of identifying, characterizing, and quantifying waste produced during each event. 🌱 This process will provide the Palais with precise data on the environmental impact of the events it hosts. 📊 Through this data collection, the Palais hopes to acquire a better understanding of consumption habits and waste production related to events. 👏 The ultimate goal? To develop customized strategies for each type of event in order to effectively reduce waste production and promote more sustainable alternatives.  Now that's innovation! • Big news in science! 🎉 A new life-sciences hub in downtown Montréal is intended to attract biotech startups, foster research and development (R&D), and facilitate collaboration. The project is called Inspire Bio Innovations. The first phase is set for completion this summer, the second phase is expected to be finished in 2026. And it's perfect timing! Here is some information about LSHT in Montréal: 🧪 Greater Montréal currently ranks among North America’s top-10 life-sciences and health technology hubs. 🩺 This is partly due to the region’s affordability and because it’s a research hotbed that’s home to one of North America’s largest hospital-based research centres. 🔬 With more than 55,000 jobs and 1,600 companies, Montréal ranks first in Canada for life-sciences R&D investments and research centres, which is likely why leading biopharma companies such as Pfizer, Novartis, AbbVie and Merck chose Montréal as their Canadian headquarters. 🏆 At the World Architecture Festival last November, Inspire Bio Innovations was named “Future Office: Project of the Year,” with the judges lauding the building for how it “successfully repurposed an abandoned urban infrastructure, integrated heritage elements, enhanced community resilience and incorporated sustainable development.” Learn more about this project: https://lnkd.in/enRz-Nxd #montreal #lifesciences #innovation #technology
